Presented In Cooperation With North Montco Technical Career Center

The North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC), in cooperation with the Souderton Area School District and the SASD Community Education Department, provides a Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) approved Classroom and Behind-The-Wheel Training Program for all interested students.  This program meets the Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations and insurance industry requirements.

Summer 2010 classes will be offered.

CLASSROOM THEORY - 30 hours of Pa. Dept. of Education approved classroom instruction designed to develop positive attitudes toward the driving task.  This class fulfills insurance company standards for driver education classroom theory.  In addition, a representative from an insurance company, an EMT, and a police officer will be invited as guest instructors.  Students must be 16 or turn 16 by end of class. You must take Classroom Theory before taking Behind-the-Wheel.      

Classroom Fee: $145/30 Hours
Each 10 week session runs 3 hours per night for a total of 30 hours.  Students are required to complete 30 hours to receive a certificate.

Classroom Theory Session 1 (10 Sessions):
Times: 6:00-9:00p.m.
Dates: Monday evenings, February 8 to April 26, 2010 (No Class: 2/15 & 4/5)
NOTE: Class on March 29 will meet at Indian Valley MS

Classroom Theory Session 2 (10 Sessions):
Times:6:00-9:00p.m.
Dates: Tuesday evenings, February 9 to April 13, 2010 (No Class: 11/24)

Classroom Theory Session 3 (10 Sessions):

Dates: Wednesday evenings, February 10 to April 14, 2010

BEHIND-THE-WHEEL INSTRUCTION - Each student receives 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.  Emphasis is placed on the basic skills involved in operating a car.  Successful completion enables many students to qualify for insurance rate reductions (check with your insurance provider).   A license or learner’s permit is required to drive

Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Fee: $250/6 Hours

CLASSROOM AND BEHIND-THE-WHEEL COMBO - With the Combo of Class & BTW  --  students who have completed the classroom & BTW and have not graduated from High School, will be given the Drivers Licensing Exam during the 6th hour of BTW driving. 

Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel Combo Fee: $395 (30 hrs. classroom + 6 hrs. behind wheel)
