There are simple tricks and techniques to creating a delicious pie crust, as well as tips that will help you bake a perfect pie every time.  Make 2 pies to take home – a pumpkin pie (single crust) and an apple pie (double crust).  You will receive a list (before class) of supplies to bring to class.  $15 food fee payable in class to instructor.

With meat prices soaring, want to know some different and delicious recipes for regular ground beef?  Here is your chance to make an assortment of easy, tasty, and “full of comfort” dishes made with this old standard.  Guaranteed to be family pleasers, in class everyone will create a different dish – including meatloaf, stew, jazzed up hamburgers, a couple of dishes with an international flavor, as well as shepherd’s pie and casseroles. Food Fee $15 payable in class.  Equipment list will be sent before class begins.

Too busy to bake for the holidays?  Remember those old fashioned cookies that Grandma used to make? Snicker Doodles, Thumb Prints, Chocolate Chips, Gingerbread, and more. Here is your chance to make all your cookies in one night.  Everyone will make something different, then share their cookies with the rest of the group. Go home with an assortment of 10 different kinds of cookies packed on 2 silver trays that will be shrink-wrapped for freshness or gift-giving.  You will receive a call before class about what equipment to bring.  Sign up EARLY – space limited and classes fill quickly!  Please arrive on time and ready to bake. This class takes the entire time to complete all your cookies!  

CAKE DECORATING FOR BEGINNERS

Impress your friends and family when you learn the basic steps involved in making a decorated cake - baking & prepping the cake, making a variety of icings, creating different styles of borders, making flowers such as roses & violets, & decorative writing. You will also learn to make the new and popular sugar sheets.  Be the hit of every party with your own beautifully decorated cakes!  Some material expense - you must purchase cake decorating supplies & kit. You will receive a supply list before class begins.

Take this opportunity to learn to create Sushi, it will impress your family and friends for the holidays. It's easy and fun using a variety of simple and common ingredients.  Note: we will not be making raw fish sushi in class, but you will be taught the methods of making it at home if you are interested.  Bring your apron, appetite, and containers to carry home extra sushi.

Cupcakes are fun, and are the “latest thing” to serve at special occasions. In this hands-on workshop, make an assortment of beautifully decorated cupcakes.  Make pretty cupcakes that can be served at showers, teas, and formal gatherings, create cupcakes with seasonal themes (Halloween, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Easter, Patriotic, etc), then learn tricks to make whimsical and fun children’s cupcakes – perfect for birthday parties, school functions, or play dates. Some material expense - you must purchase cake decorating supplies & small kit. You will receive a list of supplies to bring to class. This class is for adults only.

Treat your holiday guests to an assortment of puff pastries and hors d’oeuvres when you entertain them at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Learn to handle this special dough as you make an assortment of recipes -- from appetizers to dessert items, all of which will complement your holiday menu.  You will receive an equipment list before class.

Make an assortment of sauce and salsa recipes guaranteed to enhance your cooking and add spice to your hors d’oeuvres and appetizers when entertaining.  In class each participant makes several recipes and everyone takes home samples of each thing made. Learn to make Spaghetti Sauce with meat, a variety of Bar-b-que sauces, Bolognese Sauce, as well as traditional tomato salsa and various fruit and spiced salsas.   You will receive an equipment list before class
