- Working “on” your business rather than “in” your business will discuss the importance of the owner working as a manager rather than the technician. This is accomplished through systematizing processes so the owner is free to pursue growing the business and enjoying the rewards of ownership.
- The four ways to grow your business will discuss gaining more customers, increasing the number of times a customer returns, increasing the average sale value, and making processes within the business more efficient. It will focus on the importance of increasing sales rather than cutting costs.
- Unique core differentiators will discuss how you can make a business different so customers will want to do business with you instead of your competitors. It will talk about types of differentiators, how to come up with them, and the numerous benefits of having them.
- Key performance indicators are used by management to help evaluate the business development against the plan, as well as the overall operational performance. The class will mainly focus on the definition and development process of key performance indicators.
- Managing cash flow will include an example of how a growing and profitable business can ultimately fail due to poor cash flow planning thus highlighting the importance of matching cash inflows with cash outflows. It will discuss ways to accelerate inflows and delay outflows and have a number of exercises in cash flow management.
- Getting the best valuation on your business will discuss valuation techniques and theory, why a valuation may be necessary, and how to always keep the value of you business high.
