THURSDAY EVENING BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP
Group meets the first Thursday of the month (1/3, 2/7, 3/6, 4/3, & 5/1, 2008) – 7:00-8:30PM

Started in 1996, this meeting began as the "Books of the Century" discussion group with books chosen from the New York Public Library’s Books of the Century exhibit & book. This group meets the first Thursday of the month (1/3, 2/7, 3/6, 4/3, & 5/1, 2008) – 7:00-8:30PM at the IVPL. Participants are expected to read at least part of each book. SOCRATES CAFÉ - One Hour Plus, Informal Conversation

With so many areas of Africa in the news, it almost seems overwhelming to try to get a grasp of what is happening, where, and why. Where does one begin in trying to get an understanding of the many cultures, economies, histories, of the 54 countries on the continent?
