ART TO WEAR: GLASS JEWELRY SETS - For Parent and Child

In this one-time workshop, we’ll show you how to make a one-of-a-kind fused glass jewelry set – a pendant, pair of earrings, and a ring.  Your instructor will explain how to cut glass and lay out your design working with stringers, noodles and specialty glass. Projects will be fired in the kilns at The Mud Shack and available within two weeks. Children must be 8 years or older.  $30 supply fee payable to instructor-- this fee will cover one project for parent & one child to complete together, each additional child’s supply fee is $25..  Specialty glass available at an extra charge.  Visit www.MudShack.com for project photos. 

CAKE & CUPCAKE DECORATING FOR PARENT & CHILD

Together you and your child can learn the basic steps involved in decorating cakes and cupcakes. Bring a baked cake or cupcakes to class each week and you will ice your cake, create different styles of borders, make flowers such as roses & violets, and do decorative writing. You will also decorate some cakes with seasonal themes.  There will be a material expense, as you must purchase cake decorating supplies & kit (that can be shared). See how easy it is to create illuminated artwork for your home with colorful, transparent glass.  Nightlights are great for any room, make unique gifts, and make a child feel safe at night.  Learn how to cut the glass and layout a design that will then be melted in the kilns at The Mud Shack.  Children must be 8 years or older.  Fired projects will be available for pick-up at The Mud Shack approximately 2 weeks after the class session.  Supply fee of $15 to be paid to instructor in class—this fee will cover one night light for parent & one child to complete, each additional child’s supply fee is $12.  Visit www.MudShack.com for project photos.

Do you have a budding young chef in your home?  Things will be heating up as the children mix it up with The Playful Chef.  Children will create recipes and crafts, (2 food items & 1 craft). Children have fun in the kitchen learning new cooking skills, trying new recipes and making a cooking-related craft.  Wear old clothes (things may get messy), bring Mom, Dad or Grandma, and get ready to have some fun.   Supply cost: $15 parent & 1 child - $5 per extra child - payable in class. Just in time for Spring!  In class you and your child will have the experience of working with clay and make an assortment of items such as garden markers, flower pockets, delightful garden mushrooms and more.  Week one & two will be spent making clay items, and week three will be spent painting and glazing your creations. Instructor will give you a pick up date for completed items.  Cost of supplies: $15 per parent/child  (more clay available to purchase if needed) payable in class to instructor.    Grades K-6      Instructor: Loretta Belac   

USING THE POTTER’S WHEEL FOR CHILDREN

Your child can learn to make pottery on the potter’s wheel.  Parents can stay and watch, or drop off their child and pick them up at end of class.  Children will make their pottery pieces, then glaze the piece for firing.   Pieces may be picked up on a Monday night after the end of class.  Supply cost: $15 (per child) payable in class. For parents and children (ages 4-12).  Zumbatomic classes are rockin’, high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines with music kids love, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more. Zumbatomic increases focus and self-confidence, boosts metabolism and enhances coordination in children and rounds out family fitness goals by giving parents a great reason to head to the gym for their own exercise regimen.
