District 11 Chorus Festival to Feature Souderton Area High School Singers
Souderton Area High School will host the District 11 Chorus Festival on January 28th and 29th with the culminating concert on Saturday, January 30, 2010.
This annual event highlights the talented choir members from 36 schools who demonstrate high levels of musicianship skills, have fine voices, and who are reliable and dedicated choral musicians. Of the 162 singers and 2 accompanists who will perform, 11 are from Souderton Area High School, a district record! Students were chosen to participate through an audition process. The conductor is Dr. Christopher Kiver from Penn State University. He will rehearse the students for 2 days (January 28th and 29th) and then they will perform at a 2:00 pm concert on January 30, 2010.
The program includes works composed over a span on 400 years by: Nystedt, Billings, Chatman, and Patriquin among others.
Tickets are $8.00 and will be available at the door.
Eleven students from Souderton Area High School were selected to participate in the District 11 Chorus Festival. They are Cassie Diaz - Soprano 1, Grade 12; Brenna Landes - Soprano 2, Grade 12; Kaitlyn Pinkos - Soprano 2, Grade 12; Kelsey Hendler - Alto 1, Grade 11; Jenny Denison - Alto 1, Grade 10; Natalie Dietterich - Alto 2, Grade 12; Dan Barber - Tenor 1, Grade 10; Will Baugh - Tenor 2, Grade 10; Austen Kewin - Bass 1 - Grade 11; Chris Feindler - Bass 2, Grade 12, and James Ofalt - Bass 2, Grade 10. |
