5/18/2009: Student Community Service Award
The Education Committee of the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a "Student Community Service Award" for Indian Valley area students in grade 6-11. The award, to be presented in December of 2009, is designed to recognize outstanding contributions to society through significant community service. The selective award serves the dual purpose of recognizing such contributions and providing role models for others students and the community at large.
Those students nominated must meet the following criteria:
- Nominee must be in grades 6-11
- Nominee must demonstrate leadership by having established a new project or enhanced an existing project which benefits the community.
- Nominee must demonstrate the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring and citizenship.
- Nominees must demonstrate outstanding community service.
Nomination forms are available through the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce
and at the following link: Student Community Service Award Nomination Form (PDF). Nomination forms and a brief statement of 200 words or less explaining the reasons for the nomination should be sent to: Sharon L. The application deadline is October 31, 2009. Nominations will be accepted for students in Souderton Area School District secondary schools, Penn View Christian School and Christopher Dock High School.
