6/14/2011: Kindergarten Mid-Day Busing

This letter is to inform you, as a parent or guardian of a kindergarten student in the Souderton Area School District, that the District will not be providing mid-day transportation for kindergarten students beginning with the 2011-2012 school year. Budget challenges have forced the Board and administration to make many cuts this next year, beginning with non-required programs or services. This was a very difficult decision by the Board.

However, we are pleased to inform you that several of the child-care providers for kindergarten students are planning on providing new or expanded transportation services to fill this void. Because we have an articulation agreement with the YMCA, we are aware that the YMCA is adding additional busing. Please contact your child-care provider to determine what transportation services may be offered.
