6/30/2010: SAHS Friend of Education Award given to Kristopher Wint

Kristopher Wint is the recipient of the Friend of Education Award. The committee selects one award winner annually who has contributed to the education of students at Souderton Area High School. The award is given to a model of Character Counts that encourages students to be young men and women of character. Kris Wint of H&K Group was chosen for his participation in the Partnership Advisory Team at the High school and his initiative in bringing the ACE mentor Program to Souderton this year. Kris worked with the organization, gathered mentors from businesses across Montgomery County and led 40 students through activities and field trips designed to help them understand the career pathways of architecture, construction trades and engineering. As a culminating project students designed a new dormitory for University of Pennsylvania. Kris and the other ACE leaders mentoring of students in a chosen career pathway has helped students to better understand their possibilities for the future.
