10/1/2009: Homecoming activities at Souderton Area High School include the Dedication and Open House

The first homecoming weekend at the new Souderton Area High School, 625 Lower Road, Souderton, will be Saturday, October 10th, and Sunday, October 11th, and features a variety of special activities.

The annual alumni homecoming breakfast begins at 9:00a.m. in the high school cafeteria. More information on the breakfast and a reservation form can be found on the Alumni Web site. The homecoming sports festival on October 10th begins at 8:00a.m. in the pool and 1:00p.m. in the multi-purpose stadium. Come check out the artificial turf field lines for football, soccer, and field hockey. There is ample parking with over 900 spaces and 4,000 seats in the grandstand.

The game schedule for the day follows:

• JV Boys Soccer, 1:00p.m., stadium, West Chester East High School
• Varsity Boys Soccer, 3:00p.m., stadium, West Chester East High School
• JV Girls Volleyball, 1:00p.m., main gym #1, William Tennent High School
• Water Polo Tournament, Varsity Boys and Girls, all day (8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.), pool
• Varsity Girls Tennis have District Playoffs at the ASHE Complex in Manayunk at 8:00a.m.
• The homecoming football game against Hatboro-Horsham begins at 7:00p.m. in the stadium.

On Sunday, October 11th, the Dedication/Open House begins at 1:00p.m. A brief ceremony will be held in the gym featuring the Big Red Marching Band and select choir. Self-guided or student led tours will be available during and/or after the ceremony. Please allow adequate time to enter the high school property, park, and meet in the gym. Doors will open at 12:30p.m. Tours will start at 1:00p.m. and conclude at 2:15p.m.

To create additional opportunities for community members to see SAHS, the building will be open on Thursdays, October 15th and 22nd from 7:00-8:30p.m. Administrators will be present on both evenings to give tours at 7:00p.m., 7:30p.m., and 8:00p.m.
