10/3/2006: Sovereign Bank Donates $1,000 to Souderton Area Education Foundation

Working with individuals, businesses, and the community, the Souderton Area Education Foundation aims to create opportunities to enhance educational experiences and provide unique programs to engage students in creative learning environments. Grants awarded by the Education Foundation provide future leaders with additional opportunities to grow as individuals and expand their abilities to solve problems, gain knowledge, understand strategies, and develop skills for today and for years to come.

The Souderton Area Education Foundation recently received a $1,000 donation from Sovereign Bank to help further its mission to help teachers implement challenging and motivating programs for SASD students. The check was presented by Sovereign Bank representatives Ms. Sherry Gerhart, Assistant Vice President, Harleysville Branch, and Mr. William D. Mullen, Sr., Vice President, Government Banking. Mr. Mullen expressed the bank's desire to support community organizations, especially those like the Souderton Area Education Foundation, which provides such a valuable service itself.
