Superintendent's Corner

August 28, 2017

Welcome to a new school year in the Souderton Area School District; we are happy you are here! Over the summer I have had the opportunity to welcome new families to both our community and our schools. I've had some great conversations with our registering kindergarteners and have had a chance to catch up with returning families, and I am amazed at how quickly our students are growing. It is the people of this community that make it such a special place, and getting to know them makes me enthusiastic to begin and enjoy our new school year.

A focus on the "whole child" is at the core of the goals of Souderton Area School District. Here, we are fortunate to have students and families who share their diverse experiences and talents with our learning community. It is important to us that we learn to embrace our differences and learn about each other and our individual cultures. This is significant not only to our students, but to our faculty and staff as well. The relationships that we cultivate with each other are the ones that assist us in building a strong school community.

The Souderton Area School District has a very proud history of alumni, faculty, staff and families who remain involved in our community. The years fly by, so let’s enjoy the upcoming school year together both in and out of the classroom. I hope that you will join us this fall for an athletic competition, a stage performance or a Homecoming activity that will showcase the Souderton Area tradition of excellence.

Tomorrow the school buses will be rolling and our staff will be waiting to welcome 6,400 students into our schools for the 2017-2018 school year. It is going to be a terrific year!

Sincerely,

Frank Gallagher
