Board Committees

The duties of the Souderton Area School Board are divided into four committees whose members study, propose and review topics fitting into their area of responsibility. The four committees are: Operations, Policy, Education-Personnel and Finance. The committees make recommendations that come before the entire School Board for action.

Education-Personnel Committee

The Education-Personnel Committee of the Souderton Area School Board reviews curriculum items including new courses, course revisions and requests for additional personnel. Secondly, this committee is responsible for reviewing and approving all personnel items including recommendations for employment, resignations, leaves and sabbaticals.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee of the Souderton Area School Board is responsible for overseeing the development of the district's budget, monitoring the budget during the school year, recommending capital project financial options, and establishing prudent fiscal procedures that will allow the school district to make the most efficient use of its funds.

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee of the Souderton Area School Board reviews procedures, plans and projects in the areas of Food Service, Building and Maintenance and Transportation. All construction and renovation projects fall under this committee's domain, as do requests for use of school facilities.

Policy Committee

The Policy Committee of the Souderton Area School Board has the responsibility of reviewing current policy, establishing new policy and creating procedures for carrying out certain policies. The committee looks at policies in the areas of local board procedures, programs, pupils, administrative employees, professional employees, classified employees, finances, property, operations and the community.
