General Fund Budget Approved for 2011-12 School Year

The Souderton Area Board of School Directors approved the district's General Fund budget for the 2011-12 school year at their May 26, 2011 meeting. The $104,744,933 budget contains an increase of 1.2626 mills which represents a 4.87% increase over the 2010-11 rate. The new millage rate is 27.19 mills.

An average taxpayer's home assessed at $150,000 will pay an increase of $189.39. The Act 1 homestead/farmstead property tax reduction is $186.96.

Local revenues make up 80.5% of all sources for the approved budget. The remaining sources of the budget include 18.5% from the State and less than 1% from Federal sources.
