- Secure service road for delivery traffic behind the building
- Proximity of parking lots to building entrances
- Perpendicularity of hallways maximizes sightlines and supervision
- Adult (Administrators and Teachers) supervision in all student areas
- Entrance/Exit locations sited to distribute populations of students/visitors
- Proximity of Athletic Director and Trainer to Athletic Areas
- Daycare Area with secure pick-up/drop off areas
- School Nurse and Main Office near Daycare and Special Needs suites
- Camera monitoring of building readily accommodated
- Modern public address and bell systems
- Security stations in high traffic areas
- Ability to cordon large areas of building as needed
- Oversized stair towers and elevators
- Science removed from the highest traffic areas
- Mechanical systems at far end of the building away from classrooms
- Sufficient, well located receiving and storage areas
- Control of site and building access
