Food Services > Important End of Year Reminders from Food Service

As the 2016-17 school year comes to a close, the Food Service Department would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued business over the course of the past year, as well as to provide some helpful tips to make the transition to the new school year as worry-free as possible.

END OF YEAR STUDENT LUNCH ACCOUNT REMINDERS

MY SCHOOL BUCKS ANNOUNCEMENT
Please be aware that the last day to make a payment on your student's lunch account for the 2016-2017 school year through the MySchoolBucks website (www.MySchoolBucks.com) will be Monday, June 12, 2017. After June 12, 2017, the system will be shut down for the summer and re-activated on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. MySchoolBucks.com offers an easy way to manage your child's lunch account. You can monitor what your child is purchasing 24/7. It eliminates the possibility of lost cash or checks on the way to school.

For existing MySchoolBucks accounts, please be sure to update your child's grade, school location and delete accounts for any graduating seniors. These steps are necessary to ensure that MySchoolBucks.com communicates with our systems.

To begin using the MySchoolBucks.com website, simply log on to www.MySchoolBucks.com. You will need your child's student ID number which is available by calling the school that your child attends. The attendance secretary or cafeteria manager will be able to provide this information. Your child's birth date is also required to set up the account. A credit/debit fee is charged each time money is placed on your child's account (the present charge is $1.95 per transaction). MySchoolBucks is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There is no charge to set up and monitor your student's lunch account.

MEAL ACCOUNT ANNOUNCEMENT
IF YOUR STUDENT HAS A CHARGE BALANCE DUE TO THE CAFETERIA FOR ITEMS PURCHASED THERE, IT MUST BE PAID BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2017.

Payment of this balance can be made by cash, check or online through www.MySchoolBucks.com. If paid by cash or check, either can be delivered to the cafeteria manager in person, while checks may also be sent through the mail to the Souderton School District, 760 Lower Road, Souderton, PA 18964, Attention: Food Service. If you are not already familiar with the online method, it has various benefits such as convenience and the ability to check a student's account balance 24/7, but be aware there is a service charge of $1.95 for each deposit into a student's account. There is no fee if you later wish to check a student's account balance or purchases using the online service. To set up an online account, you need your student's birth date and student ID number.

ACCOUNT FUNDS
Any funds that have not been used on your child's meal account automatically carry to the next school year, even if they change schools within the District.

REFUNDS
If a positive balance is left on your child's account at the end of the school year, and you would like to request this amount be refunded to you, please contact your child's school cafeteria manager to request a refund.

ATTENTION: PARENTS OF SENIORS
All obligations, including payment in full of any outstanding lunch account balances, must be made prior to graduating.

If a senior has a positive balance at the end of the school year, any remaining funds will automatically be transferred to the next oldest sibling remaining in the District. If there is no sibling, a refund will be issued. Refunds will be processed after the last day of school for all graduating seniors. Please allow at least three weeks for the transfers/refunds to be made due to the volume of information which must be processed at the end of the year.

MEAL BENEFITS
If your student currently receives free or reduced meal benefits, these benefits will remain in effect for the first thirty (30) school days of the 2017-2018 school year. Please be sure to submit a new 2017-2018 Free and Reduced Meal Application before the first thirty (30) school days ends to avoid a lapse in benefits. The new 2017-2018 Free and Reduced Price Meal Application will be available in July, 2017 on the District Web site.

Please contact Jane L. Natali, Food Service Director at jnatali@soudertonsd.org with any questions or concerns.
