Food Services > Point-of-Sale > Bonus Bucks available through SASD Food Service Department

During the months of September and October, the Souderton Area School District Food Services Department is conducting a Bonus Bucks promotion to bring awareness to parents and guardians of district students of a computerized meal accountability system used for cafeteria transactions.

Point of Sale (POS) permits money to be deposited into a student account for the purchase of breakfast and/or lunch and eliminates the need for students to carry cash on a daily basis. Reduction in the use of cash eliminates lost or forgotten cash and permits the students to be served with greater efficiency when they reach the cashiers.

“Bonus Bucks will offer one free dollar for every ten dollars deposited as an incentive for making a deposit into their child's account,” said Jane Natali, Supervisor of Food Service. Accounts are set up for all students. Parents or guardians are encouraged to place as much money as they choose in their child’s account. For example, a ten dollar deposit will equal $11 in the student’s account; a $100 deposit will equal $110 in the student’s account. The money is drawn down with each transaction.

Example:

Deposit $10 = $11 in student's account
Deposit $15 = $16 in student's account
Deposit $40 = $44 in student's account
Deposit $100 = $110 in student's account
