In September 2009, the new 9-12 Souderton Area High School opened its doors to students for the first time. Situated on 104 acres in Franconia Township, the new building is 445,000 square feet. The high school consists of 22 state-of-the-art science labs, an integrated arts wing, including an auditorium surrounded by art, technology education, and music rooms, as well as a television studio and video editing lab. The academic wing of the building houses two 3-story wings of 78 regular classrooms, which surround a spacious library. The academic wing also has 14 multi-purpose computer labs in which courses ranging from Music Technology, Multimedia, and Cisco, to Accounting II and Career and Personal Finances will be taught. Finally, supporting Souderton Area High School’s national award winning student publications, The Arrowhead (school newspaper) and The Unaliyi (yearbook), is a publications lab, enabling flexible work schedules of student journalists and publishers. |
