Task Evaluation Criteria

Graduation Project Evaluation Criteria for Eligible Projects
This set of criteria is used to determine whether a particular project within a course is eligible to be placed in a student's portfolio. The student's project will receive an eligibility rating using the score card (appendix B) at the time the project is evaluated by the subject teacher within a course. The subject teacher will also designate which components of the graduation project requirement the particular project demonstrates. All projects do not need to demonstrate all components; however, the totality of the work in the portfolio must demonstrate all the components.

5 Distinguished
The project demonstrates independent student work completed over time that exhibits application, synthesis, or evaluation of course content using thorough research, sound communication, and mastery of course specific skills to complete a project.

4 Proficient
The project demonstrates independent student work completed over time that partially exhibits application, synthesis, or evaluation of course content using research, communication, and course specific skills to complete a project.

3 Partially Proficient
The project demonstrates independent student work completed over time that exhibits limited application, synthesis, or evaluation of course content using research, communication, and course specific skills to complete a project.

2 Apprentice
The project demonstrates independent student work achieved over time that exhibits limited application, synthesis, or evaluation of course content using limited research, communication, and course specific skills to produce a project.

1 Novice
The project demonstrates some independent student work achieved over time that exhibits little application, synthesis, or evaluation of course content using minimal research, communication, and course specific skills to produce a project

Graduation Project/Portfolio Scoring Criteria
The evaluation criteria and levels of achievement for written, oral, research, technology, visual, and reflection components of the graduation project are listed in detail. Students should be clear on these components and levels as they complete projects within courses and their culminating project. These criteria will be applied to all graduation project work.
