Dear Students,

You will be making some extremely important decisions as you select the courses you will take next year. Choices you make this year may have a profound impact on your future educational and career options. We encourage you to seek the assistance of your teachers, counselors, and parents as you give thoughtful consideration to your course selections. Ideally, the courses you select should be challenging, but not overwhelming in difficulty, and they should support your educational and career goals. It is important for you to be realistic as you assess your interests, abilities, and prior academic success.

The Program of Studies is produced to provide you and your parents with information regarding graduation requirements and academic programs and courses available to you in grades 9 through 12. Your counselor is available to provide additional details and answer any questions you may have regarding your schedule for next year.

Please select your courses prudently. The development of next year’s master schedule and assignment of teachers are directly aligned with student course selections. Students will have ten (10) school days after the distribution of schedules in May to place a request to make a schedule change.

Schedule Changes: It is our expectation that students and parents will check, verify, and if need be, make a request to adjust their schedule within the first ten (10) days after receiving their schedules. Students should be especially alert to the proper placement of core subjects in their schedules. When possible, core subjects should be divided between the two semesters. Counselors will schedule appointments with students who make a request to adjust their schedules prior to the end of the academic year.
