Activities > National Honor Society Minimum Requirements

The National Honor Society does not include freshmen. The earliest a student can be considered for induction is the second semester of their sophomore year. Minimum Requirements necessary to be considered for acceptance into the Souderton Chapter of the National Honor Society:

• The earliest a student can be considered for induction is the second semester of their sophomore year.
• Minimum 3.85 (weighted) GPA –This will get the student invited to apply for membership.

Beyond that, the student must also...

• Complete a minimum of twenty hours of valid (documented) community service (April to March) (Service hours do not count if completed as a mandatory requirement for a club, sport or organization)
• Be an active longstanding member and participant in at least two separate school sponsored activities (clubs, sports, activities, etc.)
• Demonstrate leadership qualities as assessed by club/ sport/ activity directors
• Have an excellent attendance record
• Have an excellent disciplinary record
• Turn in a completed application on or before the deadline (date to be determined)

ALL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED AND VOTED ON BY A FACULTY ADVISORY BOARD. (NHS ADVISOR IS A NON-VOTING MEMBER OF THE BOARD) (ALL DECISIONS OF THE BOARD WILL BE FINAL).
