Message from the Superintendent - May 1, 2020

I want to thank you again for your patience and cooperation as we end our seventh week of the school closure and move forward towards the end of the school year.

Over the past several weeks we have enhanced our At Home Learning program to include synchronous learning opportunities (live, scheduled sessions) for teachers to interact directly with their students. We continue to expand our capacity to deliver virtual instruction via Schoology and are committed to promoting student learning through the end of the school year.

The high school has also been rapidly planning events to celebrate the achievements of our graduating seniors. The first of these will be a “Farewell Tour” where students and families are invited to SAHS for a celebration to honor our graduates with a decorated car procession. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th, with a rain date of Monday, June 1st. Use the following link for more information on end of year events for the high school.

The administration and school board are working to refine the budget for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year, which must be approved no later than June 30th. The economic impact of this crisis cannot be understated, and the Board’s Finance Committee is working hard to preserve funding for our excellent programs while also considering the burden on our taxpayers.

Our District Web site is continually updated with the latest information related to the school closure. Please visit the resource page for up-to-date information and a list of answers to frequently asked questions.

I am proud of the perseverance of our students throughout this difficult time, and my thoughts are with you and our entire community.
