Important Attendance Information for 2020-2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the District has modified its daily student attendance procedures beginning with the start of the 2020-2021 school year. District policies on student attendance, Board policy 204 - Attendance, have not changed.

Key attendance information for students, parents, and guardians:

  1. New this year: Absence notes may now be e-mailed to attendance offices.

  2. For in-person students attending school, normal attendance procedures apply. Students will report to class and attendance will be taken by the teacher.
    1. Students who arrive late to school or need to depart early should provide the school attendance office with a parent permission note upon arrival or dismissal.

  3. For in-person students attending virtually because of a hybrid schedule or quarantine*, attendance will be taken virtually. Students will be required to log in to Schoology at the start of the school day. Students are only permitted to participate virtually as dictated by the hybrid schedule or quarantine (students may not choose to participate virtually for another reason).
    1. If a student does not log in to Schoology on time, or cannot complete the entire virtual school day, the parent must e-mail or call the attendance office to record the attendance change.

  4. For Souderton Area Online Academy (SAOA) students, attendance will be taken virtually. SAOA students will be required to log in to Schoology at the start of the school day.
    1. If a student does not log in to Schoology on time, or cannot complete the entire virtual school day, the parent must e-mail or call the attendance office to record the attendance change.

*Quarantined? If student is quarantined due to doctor’s order, county health department order, or recent out-of-state travel, the parent/guardian must contact the school attendance office at start of quarantine period. Student will be permitted to participate virtually each day of quarantine and follow attendance procedures above.
