Quarantine Guidelines

All SASD students and staff who are identified as "close contacts" are asked to follow the quarantine guidelines below, per the Montgomery County Office of Public Health (for individuals who are considered close contacts of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19).

  • Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring. Individuals completing a quarantine after day 10 should continue monitoring for symptoms until day 14.

  • Quarantine can end after Day 7 if a negative COVID-19 test result is presented and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring.
    • The test must be administered on or after Day 5 of the quarantine period, but quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than after Day 7.
If a student is identified as a "close contact" in school, the student's family will be contacted by the school and advised of the quarantine procedures. Please refer to the updated School Exclusion Recommendations for guidance on when students must stay home from school.

National: The PA Department of Health has also updated its guidance for out of state travelers. As of March 1, 2021 the Order of the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health for Mitigation Relating To Travel is no longer in effect. Travelers should still practice appropriate public health measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 such as masking, physical distancing, and hand hygiene.

International: People traveling outside of the United States need to test negative upon re-entry to the US. International travel should be reported to the school principal or nurse.  Students returning from international travel must present evidence of a negative test result in order to return to school.
