Reminders for 2019-2020

Welcome back to all students for an exciting 2019-2020 school year.  A few friendly reminders from the Food Service Department:

FUNDING STUDENT ACCOUNTS:  Student meal accounts can be funded by cash or check made payable to "SASD Cafeteria Account".  Please write your student’s ID number on the check.  If you have children attending more than one building in the District, please send separate checks.  Online payment may be made at  You will need your student's ID number and date of birth to set up an account.  Parents must change their child’s building location in (for example: child moving from elementary to middle school, or middle school to high school) in order to receive up-to-date information.  Parents may check the account 24/7 for student balances and purchases.  Please be advised there is a credit/debit charge fee of $2.49 per transaction when funding your child’s account through MySchoolBucks.  

MEAL BENEFITS:   Students who received meal benefits in the 2018-2019 school year will need to complete a new Free and Reduced Meal Application and submit it to the Food Service Department by October 1, 2019.  Meal benefits from the 2018-2019 school year only carry over for the first thirty (30) school days.  Prior year meal benefits expire on October 11, 2019.  Free and Reduced Applications are accepted throughout the entire school year.  If you feel you qualify, complete an application and submit it at your earliest convenience.  You can complete your Free and Reduced Meal Application online.    

NEW MEAL PRICING:  The price for a nutritious breakfast is $1.65.  The price for an elementary lunch is $2.90; middle school Lunch is $3.15; and high school lunch is $3.50.  Reduced breakfast is $.30 daily and reduced lunch is $.40 daily.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:  The Food Service Department is currently looking to hire food service substitutes.  You can work while your children are at school.  We also have several positions for food service assistants throughout the District.  All available positions are posted on the District Web site in the Employment section.
