Hundreds of pieces of student artwork from kindergarten through grade 12 reveal the artistic achievements of the students as a result of SASD's commitment to providing every student with a quality visual arts education.

Margie Stern, Director of Indian Valley Public Library, welcomes back the month-long exhibit, "IVPL is thrilled to have SASD Youth Art Month exhibit back again this year. Our patrons enjoy the artwork displays immensely. We are always impressed at the quality and variety of art that the students create."

The show displays a broad spectrum of art media and techniques including: drawing, painting. printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, collage, jewelry, repoussé, textiles, fashion design, mixed media, and illustration.

These projects also reveal strong thinking skills such as: observation, questioning, problem-solving, risk-taking, evaluation and meaning making. Students have made connections to the natural world, history, culture, literature, pop culture, and topics meaningful to them.

Art teacher Nancy Eglington-Woods of Indian Valley Middle School shared, "This year my students have shown exceptional creativity and skill in their art. I am very proud of their hard work and the way they support each other." Being selected to have work in this show is a high honor and creates great excitement.

Come be a supportive audience for these young artists and help their joy and creativity spread!

The public is welcome to view this impressive exhibit during regular hours at the Indian Valley Public Library through March 29th. Come and celebrate the importance of art in our public schools and in our lives. Celebrate Youth Art Month!
