Youth Art Month Exhibit 2021

Click to view the VIRTUAL Youth Art Month Exhibit...You are invited to celebrate Youth Art Month and view Souderton Area School District’s outstanding annual art exhibition, kindergarten through 12th. Our show and reception, usually held at the Indian Valley Public Library during the month of March, is being held virtually this year through below.

We are proudly representing outstanding artwork from our six elementary schools, two middle schools, the high school, and Souderton Area Online Academy.

This amazing artwork reveals creative achievements of our students, a result of Souderton Area School District’s commitment to providing every student with a quality visual arts education.

High school educator Ginny Perry said, "Our students are taught various skills and techniques with a focus on creativity, design, observation, problem-solving, and developing personal style and voice. Creativity is developed through practicing the processes of brainstorming, decision-making, questioning, experimenting, risk taking, and personal reflection. The results of all that thinking look great!"

In this year of COVID-19, stress, limited supplies, and space constraints due to safety protocols, creating artwork was also life-giving to students and gives them a way to express their resiliency.

Our virtual show will display a broad spectrum of different art media and techniques including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, collage, jewelry, repousse, textiles, mixed mediums and illustration.

We hope you enjoy this fabulous exhibit. Margie Stern, Director of Indian Valley Public Library, said, "We will miss hosting student artwork this year, but we are excited to share the virtual presentation for all our patrons to enjoy." Congrats to all the talented students involved and for the expertise and guidance of Souderton Area School District’s outstanding art educators.

Come and celebrate with us!
