Souderton Area Community Education (SACE) operates under the auspices of the Souderton Area School District. Started in 1962, this department was the first in the area, and continues to be one of the largest and most progressive Community Education Programs in southeast Pennsylvania. The department offers a Fall and Winter/Spring Semester of adult evening classes, an Aquatics Program for adults and children, and a Summer Recreation (day camp and enrichment programs) for children. Special events are featured throughout the year.

Adult Evening Program serves approximately 3,500 different students each year, with constantly growing enrollment. Community Education employs over 150 staff members, a highly qualified group of dedicated professionals who teach classes, supervise programs, and manage and guard the pool. One hundred or more courses are offered each semester through the adult evening school with topics that range from financial planning, arts and crafts, self-improvement programs, gourmet cooking, computer classes to sports and exercise.

Summer Programs include the Summer Adventure Day Camp for students who have completed kindergarten through grade six. The nine-week camp provides parents with an affordable, comprehensive program filled with learning opportunities, outdoor activities and lots of summer fun. The Club Adventure workshops offer enrichment experiences not available during the school year. Sessions typically run for one week in the mornings. They give students a chance to try something and discover new skills.

Aquatics Programs run throughout the year with Fall and Winter semesters offering evening and weekend programs and the summer lesson sessions during the day.

All SACE programs include highly qualified instructors, many with years of teaching experience. The department is always looking to add new classes, incorporate new ideas and hire exceptional staff members.

The Souderton Area School District is proud to have such a comprehensive and quality enrichment program that provides a lifetime of learning for everyone in their community. Programs are open to those who reside in the Souderton School District as well as those who live in surrounding areas.
