Winter Workshop 2022

Winter Workshop

This year, thanks to the encouragement and support of Dr. Kennedy-Reilly, Souderton Area High School welcomed the return of the Technology Education department’s annual Winter Workshop.  The Winter Workshop is a valued tradition at Souderton Area High School, an event dating back to the late 1990’s.  During the last week before winter break, first grade classes from each of our elementary schools visit the high school to participate in some technology related activities and holiday fun.  The high school students, many of which participated in the event when they were in first grade, design and run the activities.  Each activity directly relates to the courses in which the high school students are enrolled.  It truly is the students that keep the tradition alive as much as it in the teachers in the department.  It’s the cycle (1st grade participant to high school facilitator) that has kept the tradition alive for so long and hopefully for many years to come.

"Today, our 1st grader students had a magical morning at Souderton Area High School.  The high school students facilitated a dance party, crafts, a game was made in the woodshop, and much more.  Our high school students truly created a memorable experience for our 1st graders." - Franconia Elementary School Principal, Dr. Laura Heineck
